The banca ridge winery and cellar door is part of queensland's first wine tourism training college. Visitors can browse in the interpretive gallery which tells the story of the queensland wine industry. The cellar door features the award winning banca ridge wines made by the students in the teaching winery. Located at the queensland college of wine tourism in the centre of queensland's premier wine district, the cellar door bistro is open to the public and provides a commercial education and training context for students of the college. Banca ridge is also an excellent venue for conferences, seminars and functions.

In less than fifty years we have become a distinguished multicampus teaching and research institution providing education worldwide. Woven into the fabric of US is the vision and determination of many universities and community members who, over the years, have been instrumental in implementing expansion and growth, shaping what we see today. Their purpose was to set up a higher education institution on the Darling Downs. From one building in a bare green field, a Principal, eight packed time and five piece time academics, and five promote staff taught our beginning 140 students 29 courses in engineering, business studies and science at Diploma and Certificate levels. The University has changed dramatically in many ways since then, including: Developing a important research profile. Expanding our postgraduate coursework programs. Further expanding international programs including developing relationships with major offshore centers and a powerful onshore presence through the Sydney Education center.
